About Me
Welcome to my corner of the web — where I muse about my interests in educational technologies and how they apply to learning and life. I hope you’ll consider joining the conversation.
I currently live, work and collaborate at a distance from my home in the Sierra foothills in Northern California. With many years in both K12 and non-profit work, developing curriculum, training and educational media for both children and adults, I now divide my time developing instruction and in supporting educators in the uses of educational technologies for both K12 and higher education.
Through pICT (People, Information, Communication & Technology), I currently provide professional development and support for San Diego State University faculty and administrators in their use of Second Life and other virtual worlds as a new medium for instruction. I also teach EDTEC700 3D-MULEs (Multiuser Learning Environment) and provide support for other EDTEC courses.
My recent work includes virtual world curriculum development for Global Kids, Inc, an educational non-profit based in New York City. I’m also an ongoing consultant for educational video and training projects at SchoolVideos, including a 10 video series “Practical Math”, co-produced with Discovery Education.
I have a M.A. in Education (Educational Technology) from San Diego State University and a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA. My ongoing interests are in technology related professional development and in the development of comprehensive systems that provide educators and trainers the support they need to both design and implement innovative and effective learning experiences for their students. My specialties include distance and online education, social media, virtual worlds and professional development.
I am always looking for new projects!
